In the lighting editor channels are addressed in a linear way:
2 universes therefore cover the address-range from 0001-1024
(Univers 1 ranges: 0001-0512, Universe 2 ranges: 0513-1024 etc
Or in Universe-"language" {<Universe>:<DMX-Address>}
1:213 = Universe: 1, DMX address: 0213
3:024 = Universe: 3, DMX address: 0024
LCedit+ uses only linear addressing for the scenes!
means what? does it use other addressing as well?
if it uses nothing else but linear, it should be named as "exclusively"
We count light channels from 1-3072 (LCX), and you can map -any- block of channels to a DMX output (universe). So as counting in multiples of 512 is not really easy, you could map 1-500 to universe 1, 501-1000 to universe 2, etc. Even if it is needed for cabling e.g. you could map channels 1-100 to universe 1, 101-200 to universe 2, etc. OK you need more boxes

but can save a lot on cabling. -Fokko-
